If ever I have a life regret, it involves this film. 'The Finest Hour' was a movie that I conceived of, planned out, wrote in its' entirety, started to film, and then stopped. I don't remember what exactly happened to make this film not work, but I'm pretty sure it was a compilation of mishaps (which is a quote from my ping pong movie). This was right around the time that Wes and I (we were running a videography business at the time) sold all our equipment, and thus I didn't have the resources to finish the film. I also think it was around the time that I moved out to Oklahoma to help my cousin begin a company he was trying to run by himself. But whatever the reason, even with all the work that I had already put into this movie, it never reached fruition.
'The Finest Hour' was a time travel story about a professor who makes a hand held time machine. Through a series of happenings, he entrusts the device to a student of his, who accidentally alters an historical event, and so the professor and the student try to set history straight again, however difficult this may be. It may sound familiar, and that's because it is (unintentionally) very similar to 'Back to the Future' or 'Quantum Leap' and so many other time travel stories that we've all heard before. But I still thought I had a solid story, and I thought I had the capabilities to make a great film. But obviously, it just didn't work out.
Although the film never got completed, as I mentioned before, I had written the script, assembled the cast, and had already begun filming. I had even routed a chase scene through the University where we were going to be shooting. I probably put more work into this film that never got made than I had any of the previous ones that I actually had made, combined. Anyway, below you can find some images and video clips of the film that never was.
