Walking Down Mammory Lane
25 Jan 2011 by Nick | 00:45 PST
Using my website for good, I decided to promote an upcoming fundraiser for the constant fight against breast cancer. Unlike other famous battles ('Coke v Pepsi' comes to mind, for some reason), this is a world changing affliction that has touched many of our lives, and we as a community have the opportunity to make a difference.
If you'd like to contribute (either monetarily or by participation in the walk), you can visit the official website @ the3day.org, or click on the image below. Be sure to donate to my friend, Jaime Johnson, who is the leading the team accompanied by some work mates of yours truly. Make a difference.

Initial Draft of "Writer's Block" Complete
14 Jan 2011 by Nick | 17:45 PST
So last night, I completed the first draft of the outline or "treatment", if you will, of "The Writer's Block". Everyone I've talked to so far seems to think it's a really good idea, so I hope my story meets and/or exceeds expectations. I think I have a good mythology written, as well as the story itself. It should be a lot of fun, and very intriguing story to boot!
I also created another "teaser" poster, or artwork or whatever you want to call it, which you should be able to identify what it is alluding to. Hopefully it will succeed in teasing you. Click on the image to see the full poster. More coming as the script progresses.

Det One Patch
12 Jan 2011 by Nick | 22:30 PST
So first a little background: I work on helicopters at HSL-49 in
the Navy. We have "detachments" that go on deployments overseas, and
these detachments consist of 1 to 2 aircraft, a couple dozen
maintainers, and a handful of pilots (who like to break our shit!).
These detachments have patches made up, that symbolize their deployment.
Everyone that is not sent out to sea is a part of home guard, or what
we call "Detachment 1". Our job on Det 1 is to support all the other
dets, as well as our own aircraft who perform mission here on the beach.
With that said, I have developed a Det 1 patch. It is to symbolize
all our hard efforts, supporting ourselves and the rest of our squadron.
For you see, when other dets "stand up" (that is to say, they get their
own aircraft and enough maintenance personnel to maintain them), they
still require and rely on Det 1 for a lot of their work. And the only
other person who could do what we do, is Chuck Norris. Enjoy!

Let ntbone.com be your outlet

Although this website is basically unknown, I'd like to open it up
to anyone who may have something to say. If you'll notice, each time
stamp under the title of a post has a "by" section, which always has my
name beside it. I had always intended on other people posting their
thoughts, interests and anything else you may want to share. So I'd like
to take this opportunity to say that if anyone wants to post on this
website, just let me know and we'll make it happen. That is all.
New Film Project
06 Jan 2011 by Nick | 01:45 PST
Against my better judgement, I thought I would share with you my
latest movie idea. If this one "coincidentally" gets made into a movie,
at least I'll know for sure that some Hollywood producer or screenwriter
is stealing my ideas.
The new project is called "The Writer's Block". It tells a very
unique story about the true source of inspiration, and how that
inspiration is interpreted. By some it is believed to be divine
intervention, by some it is simply dismissed as fate (situation number
three, as Jack Johnson would put it). But I believe it unravels our many
preconceived notions of what inspiration is, or more specifically,
where it comes from. By looking through history, "The Writer's Block"
takes a Dan Brown-esque look at some great
writers/inventors/visionaries of our history, and kind of looks at them
through beer goggles. So ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, "The
Writer's Block".
I am currently writing the story, with the help of my brother,
Chris (yeah we have a real Coen Brothers thing going on) and I don't
have much yet, but we're sifting through all the crap and will hopefully
have a pretty solid story pretty soon. Until then, here's a teaser
image to hold you over. It gets me excited about the project. Enjoy!

Hello Two-Thousand and Eleven!
04 Jan 2011 by Nick | 01:00 PST
Assuming that each year is better than the previous one (I'm just
making that up, I don't know anyone that actually lives by that M.O.), I
think it is fitting to look brightly towards some of the things that
2011 will bring.
For a man who loves movies, there are several coming out this year
that promises to be great: the final 'Harry Potter and the Deathly
Hallows' chapter comes out in July. On the comic-book-adaptation side of
things, 'Captain America: The First Avenger', 'The Green Hornet',
'Thor', 'Green Lantern', 'X-Men: First Class' and 'Cowboys and Aliens'
are all due out. As well as some honorable mentions such as the 'Arthur'
remake starring Russel Brand, a 'Total Recall' remake directed by Len
Wiseman, Kevin Smith's 'Red State', 'Sherlock Holmes 2' and last but
certainly not least, what is currently titled 'The Greatest Muppet Movie
Ever Made'. Wow, that's a lot of movies! And I didn't even mention 'The
Hangover 2'. Darn it, yes I did.
So for whatever your vices are, I hope Twenty-Eleven finds you
happy and fruitful, and promises to be your best year yet! Mazel tov!
